I bought it because I lost my old MuVo. And I need a smaller player for working out.

It's a beautiful little player. Holds 1GB (which I can fill via drag and drop). Can record audio via line-in from virtually any source, has a built in voice recorder, and an FM tuner! (which it can also record from!)
Best part of all, it cost a mere $50. New.

X-Men was pretty darn good. A good cast (with the exception of Halle Berry), a tight script, and a talented, dynamic director at the helm resulted in a movie worthy of its source material.

X2 was even better. No, it was fantastic. The plot was more cohesive, the villians were more interesting (and Brian Cox stole every scene he was in), and Wolverine's origin came to the foreground. Great stuff.

Sadly, I knew X3 would be a bomb. Bryan Singer jumped ship to WB and their Superman project, and took several cast members with him. As a result, Fox replaced strong-willed singer with studio Yes-Man Brett Ratner, and produced a poor script that emphasized quantity over quality (after all, more mutants and more special effects = better movie, right?)

I was rather angry when I left the theater. I knew it didn't have a chance of reaching the bar that was set so high by X2, but I didn't expect it to be THAT bad.

Granted, the movie had it's moments. I loved Juggernaut. I loved seeing more of Colossus. I loved seeing Bobby finally go into full-Iceman form, as brief as it was. I loved Kelsey Grammar as beast.

But that was it. I didn't like all the deaths, didn't really like the cure storyline (the plot in general sucked, and had more holes than a sieve). The cinematography was terrible. There was just too much going on, too many mutants, too many uninteresting subplots. Putting Angel in the movie was completely pointless. Wolverine was turned into a lovesick babysitter. Storm was awful as usual (and strangely, no longer had an African accent). And where the heck was nightcrawler??...you get the idea.

I'm sorely disappointed. And I'm kinda angry with Singer for not concluding his trilogy. But I'll forgive him if Superman Returns is any good :)

To quote my dear brother, Batman Begins is one of the best movies I have ever seen.

Not only is it the best comic book adaptation ever, it is simply a great movie in it's own right. If I never knew who Batman was, if he was a brand new character, if Bats was never introduced way back in Detective Comics #20, it would still be a great movie.

Words just can't begin to describe my feeling after I left the theater (but I'm gonna try anyways, dammit). It is one of the most complete movies I have ever seen.

The plot? great.
The themes? Established, but not heavy-handed.
The cast? Top notch. Doesn't get any better than this.
The Special Effects? Once again great. There was NO CGI in the movie at all. There were some digital touchups added tothe effects, but they were there for enhancement to real effects.

For once we have a Batman movie where the titular hero is the main character. For once we have an actor with the acting chops and physical prowess to play three characters (Bruce Wayne, Batman, and the Billionaire-playboy-facade that Bruce puts on) and play them well. For once it is finally established...that Batman is who he REALLY is. That Bruce Wayne is his real mask!

I could go on about this forever. But I won't. Instead I'll just say, I love this movie. I dearly love it. It gives me hope. Hope for Hollywood, for Warner Brothers, and for Comic Book adaptations in general. It proves for once that when you can try, you can make a good movie and make it right.

It's cinematic masterpieces like Batman Begins that remind me why I love going to the movies.

Let's see. Power X Weight = Momentum (roughly).

And until we find a way to nullify gravity and inertia, power costs fuel to generate. Therefore, a rough approximation of this formula could be Fuel X Weight = Momentum. This is why SUV's get crappy mileage, even when a car with the same engine could be fairly economical.

Having said that...I kinda thought this would be obvious.

Unfortunately, it isn't. Most people tend to think of power as some mystical force that propels you independent of the weight it's trying to move. This is why some morons think they can outrun a 4 cyl. roadster with their V8 truck. Or why Cadillac can get away with running a commercial touting a measly 10 horsepower advantage for their Catera of the equivalent BMW, ignoring the fact that he bimmer is 800 pounds lighter.

I wonder how many of these types voted for Bush?
